WHAT IS A PARISH PLAN
A Parish plan is an all-embracing document which covers topics that are of concern to your community and outlines a profile of where you live—YOUR community.
It can build on existing village design statements and community histories, it will involve everyone—the people who work in or live in the community, the farmers, businesses, the children and the wise ones. All will have the chance to speak i.e. will have the chance of being consulted.
The parish plan allows you to have your say on the future of the Banwell community and about the community—the great things, the not so great, improvements, the issues of concern etc.

Why should you have one
It is your chance to have your say and tell the powers that be—what your would like and what they think you want
· It puts you in a much better position to influence local and national government.
· Its put you in a much better position to attract funding for you projects.
· It gives your local council a mandate to work on your behalf.
· It informs your unitary authority about your views and opinions and what you want.
· It can put the heart back into your community by getting more people involved in local issues
